Imagly AI: Engineering a High-Performance AI Image Suite

How I built a mobile-first creative platform that bridges the gap between desktop-grade generative AI and accessible mobile experiences.

The Vision

Most mobile AI generators suffer from a quality-speed paradox: you either get fast, low-quality results or high-quality generations with frustrating wait times. My goal with Imagly AI was to eliminate this compromise by architecting a multi-model system that offers professional precision in a pocket-sized interface.

Technical Architecture

The core challenge was managing high-compute tasks while maintaining a responsive Android experience. I engineered a solution focused on three pillars:

1. Model Orchestration (Flux & Turbo)

I integrated the Flux model for high-fidelity tasks—specifically chosen for its superior ability to render human anatomy and text, areas where standard models fail. For rapid iterations, I implemented a Turbo engine that delivers near-instant visual feedback.

2. "Super Gen" Processing Pipeline

To support high-resolution exports (up to 2048px), I developed a dedicated processing pipeline. This separates the initial generation from the upscaling and refinement process, ensuring the UI remains fluid even during heavy server-side computation.

3. GPT-Powered Prompt Logic

To reduce user friction, I built a refinement layer that automatically expands simple user keywords into descriptive, structurally sound prompts. This ensures that even casual users achieve "masterpiece" results on their first try.

Aspect Ratio Support

Engineered for platform versatility, supporting 9:16 (TikTok), 1:1, and 16:9 ratios to ensure assets are production-ready immediately.

Building Imagly AI taught me that in the world of Generative AI, UI is as important as the model. Even the most powerful weights (like Flux) require a thoughtful interface that guides the user toward successful outputs through smart defaults and prompt assistance.
